Welcome to the Mini Vinnies page. The members of this group are: Lily, Eily, Isla, Dominik, Callum, Celia, Daisy and Owen. Mini Vinnies is about doing good works in the community, just like Saint Vincent de Paul did in the 1600s. It is also about young people meeting to talk and share ideas and concerns, to have fun and to support each other. The Vinnies model of ‘See, Think, Do’ is a great way to get young people thinking and talking about their beliefs and values with service activities and issues in their community. They can help make their faith real, meaningful and relevant. Typically the group will meet regularly and will set goals on what they want to do and achieve.
The children made Easter crosses for our local community and parishioners.
The Mini Vinnies reached out to the local community this Christmas by sending Christmas cards and messages to the Parishioners and elderly residents. Spreading Christmas cheer!
The Mini Vinnies came up with the brilliant idea of a Worry Box for school where pupils can write down their worries and post them in the box.
The Sunshine Society have been sending parcels of joy to those who would benefit from a sprinkle of their joy and happiness.
On Monday 12th October, the Mini Vinnies decorated stones with green ribbon motifs, representing World Mental Health Day, and gave them to all children and staff in school. They have decided to call themselves THE SUNSHINE SOCIETY.
