Forest school (FS) is an inspirational process, that offers ALL learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a woodland environment.
Every Thursday afternoon, whatever the weather, EYFS and KS1 visit our forest area with our FS Leader. Every fortnight the Juniors visit and take part in FS activities as well as other outdoor classroom sessions linked to their own interests and learning needs. Our forest area is located close to our school and is a large broad-leaf and conifer wood owned by the Forestry Commission. We spend a lot of time here, building dens, making shelters, cooking, using tools, learning knots and relaxing or spend time in our gardening area within the school grounds.
