The school opened its doors to past pupils, parishioners and the local community on the 8th & 10th July. Both open days were a huge success and it was wonderful to see so many past pupils reuniting with one another and sharing their special memories.
On the 8th July, all the children provided entertainment, by singing a selection of songs, which was followed by the youngest and the oldest pupils cutting a special 150th Anniversary cake. On the 10th July the school was packed with visitors of all generations.
Thank you to everyone who came along to support such a special occasion!
We are planning to set another date for later in the year, for those who were unable to attend or who wish to return.
Great team building, hard work and fun was had by the volunteers after school today. Armed with lots of wheelbarrows, brushes, shovels, rakes and even a farm buggy, everyone managed to move 27 cubic metres of bark from the yard to the wooden play frame.
A massive thank you to everyone!
This September it is the 150th anniversary of Thorneyholme school. We are appealing for any past pupils to share their memories with the children on a form which is available below. Should you know of anyone who attended the school, then please can you pass this message on. If anyone does not have access to the internet, then you can contact the school on 01200 448276 to receive a hard copy.
Please can you also mention on the form your career or any accomplishments you went on to achieve. Also, should you have any photographs, please can you send a photocopy to school.
This document can be saved to your computer and edited should you wish to send the form back electronically.
The junior children wrote letters to the Queen, to invite her to our celebrations on the 8th and 10th July 2016.
