On Saturday 10th September 2016, children’s competition work was on display at the Hodder Valley Show.
Children and staff alike were delighted to find out who won at assembly on Monday morning. Many of our children received certificates and prize money for their entries in art work, handwriting and design technology.
On the 9th September, the whole school went to the forest to celebrate International Literacy Day. Have a look at what we did:
Story telling
Moon Forest and The Happy Magic Forest books
Using our Senses
Hear, see, feel and smell! What is around us in the forest?
Decorating Flags
Words, phrases, sentences to describe the forest around us.
Worship
Thanking God for our beautiful forest and all He has created.
Art & Literacy
Creating pictures in mixed aged groups, using natural materials from the forest floor. Describing and presenting them to the rest of the children.
Our new ‘Gardeners & Seedlings’ enjoyed working together too!
Life Education visited school to teach the juniors about how to be Cyberwise, in other words, how to be safe on the internet. Children enjoyed talking about their experiences of the internet and participating in fun activities.
