  • World Book Day

    Thu 02 Mar 2017

What brilliant book fun we all had on World Book Day!

The hall was full of parents and family members; watching and participating in our World Book Day Assembly. Quotes from a variety of children’s book were read from children across all the year groups, some of the parents presented their favourite books and showed how fun it can be to read with children when they read their favourite parts out loud, children showed off their character fancy dress costumes (from Thomas the Tank Engine to Mr Stink!) on the ‘cat walk’ and an adult versus children book quiz was highly entertaining.  Guess who won?  The children of course!

Amongst all the fun reading activities during the day, the children participated in a Book Box Quiz.  Old shoe boxes were decorated by children and the clues of a book were put inside for the others to guess.  At the very end of the day, books were recycled and the love of reading was shared when the school held a book swap event.

Thank you to all the parents and family members who supported the event, without you we would not have had so much fun spreading the love of reading!

  • Ash Wednesday Mass

    Wed 01 Mar 2017
Children had chance to reflect on the meaning of Ash Wednesday at Mass; particularly the need to be sorry for their sins, as Monsignor Corcoran said, ‘Repent and believe in the Gospel’.   The adults in the congregation were reminded that we our lives on Earth are not eternal. “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return”.
