  • Outside Classroom Open Event

    Tue 05 Apr 2022

    Outside Classroom Open Event

The wind and rain at today’s outside classroom open event, proved exactly why a shelter was much needed to enhance the outdoor learning in the infants. Our outdoor classroom has been transformed, and with a shelter in place the children are able to access materials, in even heavy rain, which would have otherwise become wet, soggy or damaged.  Whilst children too, at times, need some protection from the outdoor elements.  Many, many thanks to all those who made this possible: past and present FOT members; the local community; friends of friends and other family members; businesses and particularly to the Duchy for funding the project. The difference it is already making to our children’s learning and time at school is so very noticeable.

  • Inspiring our children of the future

Fri 01 Apr 2022 Mrs Jackson

Mr Mills, Creative Director of a leading international toy design and production near Manchester, came to school to speak to the children about his job.  The children learnt about the different stages of design and toy production and were in awe of Mr Mills’ famous logo achievements.  Mr Mills brought examples of his work, and the children were privy to some toys not yet on the market. They also had a chance to design their own toys.  Designs included: unicorn shaped slime, a necklace poppet and a hybrid of a fidget spinner and poppet. Many thanks to Mr Mills for a fabulously informative and inspiring visit.
