• COP26 Banner Marches to Glasgow

  Children helped design a banner for COP26. Camino de Santiago known in English as the Way of St. James, is a network of pilgrims' ways or pilgrimages leading to the shrine of the apostle Saint James the Great in the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Spain, where tradition holds that the remains of the apostle are buried.  Camino are walking 500 miles to COP26 in Glasgow and passed through Newton-in-Bowland on Tuesday.  The banner will make its way to Glasgow for COP26 and it will then be taken on another march in November.  Two of our junior boys, Owen and Callum, took the school's banner to Newton Village Hall, where they both spoke about being a plastic free school, how they loved being a forest school where they actually got to learn in the forest, how they learn about deforestation and other environmental issues and how lucky they feel to live in the country side in a lovely place. They even did a little recorded interview which will appear on COP26 socials.
